Huang Wen-Jen is currently an assistant professor in the dance department of Tainan University of Technology. In 2008, she founded the Seed Dance Company.
Huang Wen-Jen grew up in Yan-pu Township, Pingtung County, who likes to present rural farming phenomena and images in her works. She combines a strong and powerful movement to express a strong contrast with slow rural life attitudes. Her work "Lost Connection" won the gold medal in the 2017 National Creative Dance Competition. Huang Wen-Jen is committed to creating and at the same time promotes the idea of inviting international and young artists to go to the countryside to present their work. Wen-Jen and Ehrstrand dance collective have been working together to building up workshop in Taiwan Yan-pu for three years. Now she continues to open the art space in Yan-pu that can also give children in remote villages a chance to get closer to arts.
